A horse on a bus

Years ago when I was working in downtown Chicago for the first time in 25 years, I became a CTA commuter. Many of my pals had been riders on the #151 bus for years and years, but to me it was new.  One day, on my way home on a crowded bus, I looked up to see this horse sitting right near the front of the bus.  Not one person on the bus was looking at the horse. No one giggled, no one engaged, no one was paying attention to the horse!

We seem to be living in an era where the presence of a horse on a bus goes without notice. I say, look up, pay attention, and engage in the usual and the unusual.

When I consider new items for the bakery, I want to create things that are new, different, noticeable, and would be great small gifts that people will be surprised by, and cherish.

I ask myself; will this be something someone will enjoy and want to share with others? Will they love it like I do?

My hand-crafted pecan crisps and granola make perfect, holiday and house gifts. They’re great to have on hand for the unexpected guest or just for noshing yourself. They’ll be noticed!
