Prune Cherry Walnut Rugelach

If we told you we used plum lekvar, you might think it was something fancy coming from France. Prunes are dried plums; enough said.
Using our classic pastry dough of flour, fresh butter and cream cheese, we add a layer of prune lekvar (homemade fruit paste) smeared over the dough and sprinkled with dried cherries and toasted walnuts.
We love the taste of toasted nuts!
Then we dust it with our traditional cinnamon and sugar combo.
