Crunchy Granola

The last time granola was in my sights might have been about 1978, when I would have walked over to the Willy Street Coop in Madison WI, to shop for things like tofu, brewers yeast, and really good honey.  Everything at the Coop was in bulk and I always felt as though I was doing “real” marketing, when fitting items into kraft paper bags, weighing, and writing the amounts on them. This was likely the first time I was introduced to granola.

As I began to consider what else the bakery might create, granola came back to me. And now I am hooked. The flavor and texture completely satisfy my crunchy needs.

Like our other treats, I tested many different recipes and added my own touches to settle on this Crunchy Granola. For those wondering, yes the granola is gluten-free, but is made in an environment with gluten.
